ANÁLISE DE LESÕES ÓSSEAS COM AUXÍLIO DE MICROSCOPIA ELETRÔNICA DE VARREDURA (MEV) PARA DETECÇÃO DE ELEMENTOS METÁLICOS E DETERMINAÇÃO DE CAUSA MORTIS.
Resumo
The aim of this research is to highlight the possibilities of investigating bone injuries using the Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM), which is one of the instruments available for forensic analysis at the PEFOCE Forensic Chemistry Laboratory. A rib fragment was analyzed in a bone examination. This fragment showed a circumvallate lesion on the lower edge, most likely associated with a gunshot wound. Two other samples were also taken for further analysis and comparison of data. Research of this type in the field of forensic anthropology could also serve as support for similar investigations in the context of forensic archaeology or bioarchaeology in general in different states of northeastern Brazil.
