A arteterapia como uma ferramenta de apoio para a saúde mental da população adulta no contexto da pandemia de Covid-19: Uma revisão de escopo
Abstract
The objective of this study was to analyze the state of the art on the use of art therapy in adult mental health in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic. This is a scoping review. To construct the research strategy, the PCC anagram was used: (P: adult population ≥18 years; C: use of art therapy and C: Covid-19 pandemic). The descriptors Medical Subject Headings (MeSH) were used, which were combined using the Boolean operator (AND). The search was carried out in the Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval System Online (Medline) scientific database until August 27, 2021. Empirical and theoretical studies published from 2019 onwards in English, Spanish, and Portuguese in full text were included. Articles were found (n=19), of which only (n=6) made up the final sample. The analysis and synthesis of the studies was carried out in a descriptive way through a form built in the Excel Microsoft Office software. It was found that three of the selected articles were classified as theoretical research and three as empirical. In general, some questions about the benefits of using art therapy in the mental health of adults in view of the Covid-19 pandemic are pointed out, namely: a) self-management of physical sensations, feelings and thoughts; b) exchange of experiences between individuals; c) reduction of stress and symptoms of depression/anxiety; d) stimulation of self-reflection and creative expression. The present scoping review demonstrated that the use of art therapy within the context of the pandemic has become the focus of discussions, especially in the fields of psychology and collective health.
