INOVAÇÕES NA IMPOSIÇÃO DA PAZ: UMA DISCUSSÃO SOBRE PERSPECTIVAS DA BRIGADA DE INTERVENÇÃO NA MONUSCO

Este artigo busca apresentar, analisar e discutir a inovação na imposição da paz ministrada pela Missão da Organização das Nações Unidas de Estabilização na República Democrática do Congo (MONUSCO), enquanto discorre perspectivas da trajetória da Brigada de Intervenção (BI), a primeira força autorizada a realizar operações ofensivas no âmbito da Organização, com o objetivo de neutralizar grupos rebeldes no leste do país. A criação desse componente gerou implicações para o direito internacional e modificou a conduta da ONU frente ao cenário de conflito e instabilidade do país. Para tanto, a metodologia empregada foi uma ampla revisão bibliográfica envolvendo o tema de missões de imposição da paz, com foco em relatórios e resoluções que fizessem referência à MONUSCO, além de periódicos nacionais e internacionais, bem como produções de think tanks e relatórios de organizações especializadas nos temas.
