Resumo

Duas décadas após a campanha da Organização do Tratado do Atlântico Norte (OTAN) no Kosovo, estudiosos de Relações Internacionais produziram uma série de análises sobre a presença internacional na região, especialmente com relação ao setor de segurança. A abordagem de pesquisa da maioria dos estudiosos da política no Kosovo tende a refletir as prioridades institucionais das agências internacionais envolvidas em esforços de reconstrução pós-conflito. No entanto, entre 1999 e 2008, um movimento em direção à privatização no Kosovo liderado pelas forças internacionais permaneceu amplamente negligenciado pela maior parte dos estudos. Este artigo discute as reformas operadas no setor da segurança no Kosovo junto ao crescimento de atores privados durante a Missão de Administração Interina das Nações Unidas no Kosovo (UNMIK) e seus aliados.
