A GOVERNANÇA GLOBAL DA TERRA: AS INICIATIVAS MULTILATERAIS PARA REGULAÇÃO DO FENÔMENO LAND GRABBING

O início do século XXI tem presenciado um crescimento significativo nas transações de terras em todo o mundo. Esta corrida por terras tem sido referida pelo termo land grabbing, entendido como apropriação de terras, ideia diretamente ligada à acumulação por espoliação e à reprodução ampliada do capital, descritos por David Harvey, e gera preocupações quanto aos seus impactos econômicos, sociais e ambientais. Os principais objetivos deste artigo são analisar as iniciativas de organizações internacionais para a regulação global destas transações, criadas sobretudo a partir de 2008, e discutir seus efeitos sobre o fenômeno land grabbing.
