A DIÁSPORA CHINESA COMO INSTRUMENTO DA POLÍTICA EXTERNA DE PEQUIM E SUAS IMPLICAÇÕES PARA A CHINA MAIOR

Partindo da constatação da escassez de estudos que utilizam as diásporas como base para a compreensão das relações internacionais, o presente artigo procura mapear a forma como a diáspora chinesa se relaciona com as dimensões cultural, econômica e política da China Maior. Ao mesmo tempo, busca-se demonstrar como agem as instituições criadas por Pequim
para instrumentalizar o caráter transnacional da diáspora chinesa a fim de atingir seus objetivos no campo internacional em cada uma dessas dimensões. Conclui-se que a China incorpora a diáspora em uma estratégia de política externa, que é baseada nas organizações de chineses do ultramar e nas práticas das instituições governamentais voltadas para a diáspora.
