Resumo

Este artigo visa enfatizar as mais importantes características geopolíticas e
geoestrátegicas da Ásia Central. O argumento central está em que esta é uma região de
grande importância na atual arena econômica, resultante de sua posição estrátegia como
ligação entre o Leste e o Oeste, um espaço de competição e afirmação de grandes
potências, mas também resultante de suas extraordinárias reservas de petróleo.
