Soberania e segurança no contexto chinês atual

O presente estudo visa reconstruir e analisar como os conceitos de segurança e soberania foram construídos historicamente na realidade chinesa e como os mesmos estão ligados com o projeto nacional de desenvolvimento econômico e social da China pós-1978, com a entrada de Deng Xiaoping no poder e o começo das políticas de reforma e abertura chinesas. Procura-se salientar em que medida as reflexões sobre os conceitos de segurança e soberania no contexto chinês levam o país a alterar o seu entendimento sobre as relações internacionais e seu papel no mundo – como uma ‘potência responsável’ – e a adotar uma postura mais cuidadosa com a sua imagem de potência em ascensão no Sistema Internacional. Assim, utiliza-se de métodos qualitativos e quantitativos para elaborar este trabalho.
