Evidências dos impactos de um maior nível de Educação Financeira na vida das pessoas

Resumo

Os debates sobre Educação Financeira vêm recebendo maior atenção de pesquisadores de todo o mundo. Um dos aspectos de relevância diz respeito à verificação do impacto da posse de conhecimentos de Educação Financeira sobre a qualidade das decisões financeiras dos indivíduos. Nesse sentido, este trabalho tem por objetivo fazer uma compilação de pesquisas que buscaram verificar possíveis desdobramentos da Educação Financeira (ou falta dela) sobre a qualidade das decisões financeiras, a propensão ao consumo e ao endividamento, o uso de cartões de crédito e o comportamento de poupança e planejamento previdenciário. As pesquisas citadas demonstram que a falta de Educação Financeira tem fortes impactos no comportamento dos indivíduos quanto às decisões sobre produtos financeiros e propensão a endividamento. Demonstram também que a falta de conhecimento e de experiências com relação ao uso do dinheiro são fatores determinantes nas questões de tomada de decisão financeira e planejamento financeiro para as pessoas.
