Resumo

This paper intends to expose and discuss the challenges and possibilities of a Collaborative Archaeology in Traditional Communities, highlighting in this case study the remeiros and beiradeiros who occupy and interact along the Submédio São Francisco and, in particular, those who occupy the banks of Lake Sobradinho. Through field experience (empirical factor) and the experience of this dynamic and interaction, reflections are built about heritage, valuation, and the relationship of belonging and sometimes distancing of cultural elements that permeate the notion of time and space. It is thanks to interactions of this kind that we can think of a Public Archeology, that is, a knowledge built in tune with these populations that experience part of the customs and life along or around this great river.

Key-words: Collaborative Archaeology. Regional Archeology. Traditional Communities. Submédio São Francisco.
