Abstract

The text addresses the issue of justice, exploring the debate between procedural and substantive models of moral and political justification. It is argued that Rawls proposes a procedural interpretation of Kantian autonomy, prioritizing justice over the good. Michael Sandel’s critique is used to highlight a weakened deontological model that avoids transcendental foundations, relying instead on rational and publicly recognizable criteria. The objective is to demonstrate how proceduralism can bridge deontological principles with communal ethos, establishing a connection between Kantian and Rawlsian philosophies.
