Throughout Brazilian literature it is possible to observe the various spaces of segregation in which black women were inserted, as well as the insurgencies promoted to reverse such positions. Black-Brazilian literature, as defined by Cuti (2010), is one of the most visible spaces for the demands of blackness in and through the arts. The present study aims to reflect on the figure of the black Brazilian woman presented in the novel Solitária (2022), written by the black writer Eliana Alves Cruz. Thus, through bibliographical research, we will discuss issues such as structural racism, patriarchal mechanisms and social organizations or sharing. The research is guided by the studies of Sílvio de Almeida (2019); bell hooks (2022); Rancière (2009); Sueli Carneiro (2020); Lélia Gonzalez (2020), among other intellectuals who debate blackness. Voices like Eliana Alves Cruz echo the powers of black subjectivities, urgent presences in classroom discussions today.
